my most vivid memory of "the Wizard of Oz" as a child
The Witch of the West sicks her army of flying monkeys on Dorothy and Toto, Toto being Dorothy's dog
The very first time I see the movie, "The Wizard of Oz," I am not able to watch all the way through, because I found it a most disturbing movie, where the wicked witch of the west sicks an army of flying monkeys down on innocent Dorothy and her dog Toto. My very first time seeing the Wizard of Oz is when I am but a small child.
So, in commemoration of the upcoming day of Halloween, I paint my recollection of a scene out of the Wizard of Oz (as shown above).

The Opening of 'High Noon' catches my fancy, here below
I try replicating the black and white starkness of the movie High Noon, but resorted to color
The movie High Noon opens with a young Lee Van Cleef staring out at an approaching horse carrying one of his gang members. His gang would later ride into town, as the movie goes, aiming to kill the Town Sheriff played by Gary Cooper. It's a classic western, with beautiful opening theme song sung by Tex Ritter.
I composed a song on the Piano in a tribute to the movie High Noon, and western movies in general. I hope to record this song at Willamette Falls Media studio.
When I am growing up in Tigard. My friend Richie, sometimes brother and sister, would often take in the Sunday Matinee at the Joy Theater, which still exists today. Most often the Sunday Matinee was a western - a western such as High Noon. These were the mid-1960s to early 1970s.
